The assistant Shopping Experience (Click to see assistant in action)

This is your assistant. Yours because you set it up:

This Guide is here at your fingertips to make sure you have everything you need to make assistant truly yours.

You can browse through this Guide by following the link below or you can select a particular topic by clicking one of the links on the right.

Shopping Experience

Imagine that you are an assistant user shopping for a swimsuit. As you are searching in your favorite search engine – or at a merchant’s site – for “swimsuit”, assistant notifies you that there is an offer available that meets your profile and the topic which you are searching for.

You have personalized assistant to notify you of relevant offers by sliding an alert panel (not a pop-up) into the lower right hand corner of your screen. This panel can be set to slide away after a few seconds or stay on your screen as a reminder that an offer (what we call an “ePostcard”) for “swimsuit” is now in your assistant notebook. At your convenience you can open your assistant notebook and view your ePostcards.

Clicking on the alert panel’s “View Notebook” button or the assistant icon in your tool tray opens the assistant Notebook.

The assistant Notebook

The assistant Notebook will open with 2 panes: the right will show the assistant browser home page while the left will show your new ePostcard offer as the top entry in My ePostcards.

Here you will see the name of the “Merchant” and the “ePostcard Summary” in bold; a “Description” of the offer follows on the next line or two.

By double-clicking on the description, you can view the ePostcard offer at any time. The ePostcard in this example shows a double points offer from Nordstrom for  purchasing a Halter-neck Swimdress on-line. Always remember to check the banner at the top of your ePostcard to see whether this is an on-line or off-line offer – or may be available both on-line and in a local store.

For on-line offers, the button at the lower right “Yes, show me more” will be active.  Clicking on this button will take you to the appropriate page on the Merchant’s site, in the example, Nordstrom.

You can now shop on the Nordstrom site as you normally would.  Remember that to receive your reward points you need to make your purchase with one of the credit cards that you registered with assistant and you need to have your computer set to receive session cookies.
